	We could go on: MLB All Century Team, 19 All Star Game selections, two time Gold Glove recipient, two time MVP, Rookie of the Year... you get the idea.

Since he stepped off the diamond he has tirelessly focused on youth athletics and growing the game he loves at the grass roots level. More than 750,000 youths play Cal Ripken Baseball worldwide. He built a one-of-a-kind complex in his hometown of Aberdeen, Maryland which houses Ripken Stadium and the Ripken Youth Academy. The Academy hosts ballplayers and teams from across the country for camps and tournaments and has added a second location in Myrtle Beach. He also established the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation, working throughout the country with disadvantaged youth through Boys & Girls Clubs and other organizations serving America's most distressed communities with programs like Badges 4 Baseball, where police officers become coaches and mentors to at risk kids.
